Gathering of Royal Arch Craft Lodges of Scotland

On Saturday 19 April the Provincial Grand Master Bro. John Reid McCormack attended a special meeting of his Mother Lodge (Lodge 195) within the Masonic Temple in Kirkintilloch.

The purpose of the meeting was the annual gathering of Scottish Craft Lodges with 'Royal Arch' in their title.

There are eleven such Lodges in Scotland, eight of which had travelled and of course the host, Lodge Caledonian St John Royal Arch No 195. On this occasion, the Entered Apprentice Degree was conferred and Mr Stewart Fairbairn was initiated into Freemasonry at the hands of the Brethren of 195 in the presence of a total of 88 Brethren.
This was an excellent attendance for what was a very warm Easter Saturday. The visiting Brethren had come from Stirling, Cambuslang, Rutherglen, Perth, Maybole, West Kilbride, Ardrossan and Hawick representing 'Royal Arch' Lodges 76, 114, 116, 122, 198, 314, 320 and 424 respectively.
In addition, Brethren from twelve other Scottish Lodges were present. The Provincial Grand Master was invited to comment on the working of the Degree and on the day itself, and stated that this was a fine example of Scottish Freemasons supporting each other, forging new friendships and enjoying harmony together. All in all a splendid day.
