This year’s PGL Golf competition was once again held over Douglas Park Golf Course on Wednesday 3rd June 2009. The organisers, to whom PGL would like to express their thanks, were the ever present Bro. Bill Cairns and his worthy assistant Jim Anderson, both PM’s of 147. The golfers who took part were blessed with brilliant sunshine and a superbly presented golf course, conditions which lent to some excellent scoring. This year 2 additional trophies were added to the fine array of silverware which was being contested. Firstly, “The Smith Trophy”, which will be presented to the 1st Class Winner, to recognise the unstinting work done by our PPGM W. Ian M. Smith to promote the PGL Golf Competition over the last “few” decades. Secondly, “The Drummond Trophy”, which will be presented to the 2nd Class Winner, in memory of Bro. William Drummond PM 1309 and PPSGW, who performed the duties of Secretary of the PGL Golf Committee again for years too many to mention. The results were as:
