Saturday the 19th May saw the PGL Fishing Competition once again being held at Lawfield Fishery in Kilmacolm. Good weather conditions prevailed and they were enjoyed by the anglers taking part albeit the numbers slightly down on last year with 26 taking to the pegs. The day's competition ran from 9.00am to 4.15pm with most fish being landed before lunch. A total of 71 fish were landed and a bit of improvisation by Brother Malcolm MacDonald of Lodge 1234 who was struggling to catch the game below the waterline nearly bagged a "Duck", feathers were everywhere! The final results were as follows:

McGregor Trophy (Team Prize for the heaviest bag weighing 35lb 8oz)

Winner : Lodge Leven St John No 170 (Bros. J White and J Campbell)

Jardine Trophy (Heaviest individual fish weighing 3lb 8oz)

Winner : Bro. J White of Lodge Leven St John No 170.
