Angling Competition 2010

Saturday 15th May 2010 proved to be a very fine day for fishing. This was shown to be the case when 18 anglers, representing 6 lodges in the Province, took to the banks of Lawfield Fishery in Kilmacolm for the PGL Annual Fishing Competition. The contest started brightly and a few fish were caught almost immediately which augured well for the day ahead. The tempo of the fish caught remained steady throughout the day with the anglers of Lodge Leven St John No 170 coming out on top in both categories. The final results were as follows:

McGregor Trophy (Team Prize for the heaviest bag)

Winner : Lodge Leven St John No 170 (Bros. John White and James Campbell).

Jardine Trophy (Heaviest individual fish)

Winner : Bro. David Howie of Lodge Leven St John No 170.

The PGL conveys its congratulations to the winners and our commiserations to those who took part and did not take home the prizes in a splendidly run contest. For which the PGL would like to express its appreciation to the brethren of The Athole Lodge No 384 for organising the event.
