Marcus Humphrey House BBQ

The Annual BBQ at Marcus Humphrey House Masonic Home at Bridge of Weir on Sunday 5th June 2011 was great fun and enjoyed by the residents and their families.

The Friends Group put in a lot of hard work to make sure the afternoon went well despite the inclement weather.

The afternoon started with a Drumhead Service conducted by Rev. Robert Craig with music by the Steadfast Band. This was followed by a BBQ and entertainment from Elvis and Elton John. Backing music was provided by DJ Robert McPherson PM Lodge Clydebank No.1234.

Sub. PGM George McCaughey was again entrusted with flipping the burgers and PG Almoner was on hand to give assistance where required. PGM Tom Leckenby and his wife Anne were also present.

We were joined by Dawn Oliff Homes & Charities Manager on completion of the first of a series of three sponsored walks as part of the Grand Lodge celebrations for 2011 by helping others. The Dunbartonshire brethren contributed £170 towards her efforts.

The 'Widows Sons' a group of Masonic motorbike enthusiasts were also present and made a donation of £100 to the Home.

All the residents, relatives, staff and guests certainly had a fantastic afternoon.
