The Provincial Grand Master was delighted to accept an invitation from Mr Alan Cameron to attend the Emma Cameron Foundation Annual Dinner and Ceilidh in Oran Mor, Glasgow on 19 September of this year.

The Emma Cameron Foundation is, of course, the Provincial Grand Master's chosen charity. The Foundation is named after Mr Cameron's daughter Emma, who lost her life to osteosarcoma. This is a particularly aggressive form of cancer, and a common childhood cancer. The Foundation has been established to provide support for those organisations and charities that supported Emma during her treatment and surgery for her osteosarcoma, and seeks to assist families who find themselves in a similar position. Accompanied by his wife Maureen, the PGM enjoyed an excellent dinner, followed by an evening of Ceilidh Dancing. Brother McCormack was very pleased indeed to be able to present the Foundation with an interim cheque for £5000, this being part of the fundraising efforts of the Brethren and friends of the Lodges in Dunbartonshire for this most worthy cause. A total of £6,000 has been presented to the Foundation to date, with fundraising continuing. The PGM was pleased to be able to explain the charitable fundraising undertaken by Freemasonry to the assembled guests and was approached afterward by several guests who had no idea of our charitable efforts. The evening itself was a great success, with an additional £6,000 being raised for the Foundation through various fundraising efforts on the night, bringing the total for the evening to £11,000. Details of the charity can be found on their Facebook page and their website. The picture shows Brother John Reid McCormack presenting the cheque for £5,000 to Alan Cameron.
