On Monday 12th May 2014 a large deputation from Provincial Grand Lodge headed by Provincial Grand Master Bro John R McCormack attended The Athole Lodge No 384 to witness an excellent Mark Ceremonial carried out by The Kirkintilloch Lodge St John Kilwinning No 28.

At the end of the ceremony which was greatly enjoyed by some 82 brethren present, the Director of Ceremonies was called upon by the RWM of the Athole Lodge Bro James Hunter to present Bro David Steward Irving to the assembled brethren. Bro Hunter then delivered a short history of Bro Irvings masonic career which particularly highlighted his time as lodge secretary and master of 384.Also included was the service given to PGL by Bro Irving as Almoner, Secretary and currently Substitute Provincial Grand Master.

 

Bro Irving was then presented with Distinguished Service Membership to the great delight and pleasure of the brethren present .Bro Irving then made suitable reply thanking the brethren for the great honour bestowed upon him. The Director of Ceremonies was then requested by RWM Bro Hunter to present Bro James Forrest, Depute Provincial Grand Master to the brethren. Bro Forrest was thereafter obligated an honorary member of the Athole Lodge .Bro Forrest expressed his thanks to all concerned for the great honour conferred upon him adding that it had come as a complete surprise. The lodge was then closed in due form and all retired to an evening of harmony.
