Brock Bowling Cup Competition 2009

Although Saturday the 6th June started with a bleak looking morning The Brock Bowling Cup competitors were blessed with a glorious afternoon to play bowls at various greens throughout the Province. There was a very fitting turnout of bowlers to celebrate the Centenary of the competition which was first won by a rink from Lodge The Athole Lodge No 384 in 1909. The bowlers unfailingly expressed their appreciation to the members, committees and staff of the host clubs who welcomed each and every one with open arms into their clubs and the hospitality extended was terrific. Indeed it makes The Brock Bowling Cup the success it is.

The 100th winners of the Brock Cup were a rink from Lodge Cadder Argyle No 147, namely:

Lead : D Colquhoun
Second : B Hoffman
Third : D Rice
Skip : T Colquhoun

The runners-up were Lodge Bonhill & Alexandria SARA No 321 skipped by Bro G M F McCaughey.

The PGL once again would like to extend its thanks our thanks to the organisers of the event, Bros Jamie Stevenson and Ronnie Young both PM’s of Lodge St John No 543 and the host greens.

The participants who were hosted by Kilsyth Bowling Club are photographed below.
