Lodge St Modan No. 1015

Lodge St Modan No 1015 received its Charter on 2nd August 1906 with permission to hold meetings in the four villages of Rosneath, Cove, Kilcreggan and Garelochhead. Since then, the Lodge has led a fairly nomadic existence having exploited the terms of its Charter to the full. It first met in the school rooms of Rosneath before moving to Garelochhead in the 1920’s. After having spent periods of its history meeting in various premises within the four villages the Lodge has returned to Garelochhead for the 4th time.

On Monday the 21st September 2009, a deputation of The Provincial Grand Lodge of Dunbartonshire attended a meeting of the Lodge to perform a ceremony to dedicate their new meeting place of “Rock House” in Garelochhead. The ceremony was conducted in exemplary fashion by Bro. Thomas Kerr Leckenby, PGM, and Bro. Rev. Mark Johnstone Prov. Junior Grand Chaplain. All brethren in attendance thoroughly enjoyed the ceremony and wished the RWM, OB’s and brethren of St Modan a very happy and successful future in their new surroundings.

Pictured below are the PGM and his Commissioned Office Bearers with the Master of Lodge St Modan Bro. Philip Teese and a collective photograph of the Brethren of St Modan enjoying the occasion.
