On Wednesday,26th October, 2016 a considerable number of brethren attended a regular meeting of Cumbernauld St Andrews Lodge No 199 and witnessed an excellent rendering of the Fellowcraft Degree carried out by the Lodge Office Bearers. Following the degree three members of the lodge namely, Bro John Irvine, Bro James Hunter and Bro George Keltie were introduced to the brethren by the RWM Bro Norman Hunter in the presence of Provincial Grand Master Bro John Reid McCormack and were thereafter presented with Jubilee Certificates marking fifty years membership of the Craft. The event highlighted the service given to the Lodge in particular and the Craft in general and was thoroughly enjoyed by all concerned.

The 2016 PGL Games Competition took place in the premises of last year's winners, Lodge Leven St John No. 170 in Renton, with Substitute Provincial Grand Master James T. Kennedy in attendance to see fair play. Although few in number, the Lodges represented (170, 321 and 716) had an excellent evening of fellowship and friendly rivalry, with 8 teams battling it out. The games themselves consisted of carpet bowls, dominoes, darts and pool.more...

At the Annual Visitation to Lodge Leven St John No. 170 on Friday 25th March 2016, the Provincial Grand Master, Brother John R. McCormack, was delighted to confer Honorary Provincial Grand Rank on two Brethren. Brother Alexander Frederick Malcolm, Benevolent Fund Treasurer received the Honorary Provincial Grand Rank of Almoner, and Brother Frederick Wilson Kennedy, PM received the Honorary Provincial Grand Rank of Director of Ceremonies. Accompanied by the Master, Brother Graeme Connell, the Provincial Grand Master presented their Diplomas and Jewels to them, after which both Brethren made suitable reply.

The annual games competition took place on Friday 29th May,2015 within the premises of Lodge Bonhill and Alexandria St Andrews Royal Arch 321. The number of competing teams on the night was slightly disappointing but none the less games consisting of pool, darts, dominoes and carpet bowls were played in a competitive although friendly atmosphere. After close scrutiny Lodge Leven St John No 170 were adjudged the winners and congratulations go to them.

The Provincial Grand Master was in Renton at Halloween with the Brethren and friends of Lodge Leven St John No 170, who held a Quiz Night to raise funds for the Emma Cameron Foundation the PGM's chosen Charity. Eleven teams took part in this, the second such Quiz Night held by the Lodge for the Foundation. On this occasion a total of £525 was raised by the Lodge, supported by teams from Lodge 18, 170, 1234, 1309 amongst others. A real fun night, with much friendly rivalry between the teams. Despite the PGMs best efforts to assist Lodge 1234 on the night, they could only make 3rd last!

The presentation of trophies will take place at Lodge Kilsyth St John 39 on 3rd September,2014.

The Provincial Games Competition was hosted this year by Lodge Kilsyth St John No 39 on 16th May, 2014. After intense and close competition the winning team was Lodge Bonhill and Alexandria S.A.R.A 321. The trophy will be presented at the regular meeting of the lodge on 8th September,2014.

A very special event took place on Sunday 25th May to raise funds for the residents of Marcus Humphrey House in Bridge of Weir.more....

The PGL fishing competition took place on 17th May at Lawfield Fishery, Kilmacolm. The weather was cloudy and windy, which made conditions difficult for the Anglers who were fishing into the wind for most of the morning.more....

On Thursday,8th May 2014 the PGM Bro John Reid McCormack lead a deputation into Lodge Barns O' Clyde No 1018 to witness an excellent first degree carried out by the lodge office bearers. Following the degree Provincial Grand Lodge Chaplain Rev Bro Mark E Johnstone carried out a service of dedication regarding new lodge regalia and chaplains chair in a most moving and sincere ceremonial which was greatly appreciated by all present. The Provincial Grand Master thereafter clothed the Right Worshipful Master Bro Robert Allison in the new regalia. The thanks of the lodge were thereafter expressed to Bro Johnstone for his work on the evening together with congratulations on a job very well done.

On Saturday 3rd May,2014 the PGM Bro John Reid McCormack attended Lodge Leven St John No 170 to witness a second degree carried out by the lodge office bearers. The event was attended by a large number of brethren and included representatives from the sister provinces of Glasgow, Forfarshire and Renfrewshire East plus a deputation from the Grand Lodge of Scotland. This was the second such event held to highlight and promote the ritual of Andrew S MacBride and it is hoped that it will become an annual event to be held at various locations. The ceremonial was followed by dinner and entertainment rounding off an excellent day.

Saturday the 19th May saw the PGL Fishing Competition once again being held at Lawfield Fishery in Kilmacolm. Good weather conditions prevailed and they were enjoyed by the anglers taking part albeit the numbers slightly down on last year with 26 taking to the pegs.more....

The 31st of March saw my Installation as Provincial Grand Master of Dunbartonshire within Dumbarton Kilwinning Lodge No. 18's Temple in Dumbarton. The Grand Master Mason headed a large and distinguished Deputation from Grand Lodge, with a very large Deputation from the Sister PGLs which contained 14 Provincial Grand Masters.more....

The Vine Trust is a registered charity based in Bo’ness, founded in 1984 to help save abandoned children in Ethiopia. Since then they built homes in countries in Eastern Europe, but for the last 4 years have been rescuing abandoned kids in Peru.more....
